Auto-detect fails for MW5 on my E: Drive, but when the directory is selected, I receive this error.
Directory: /mnt/Games/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries/MW5Mercs/Mods

Try running the game and enabling one mod. Might be an issue with uninitiated stuff. Thought I handled that but will look into it.

Linux Mint. I just meant it's my third attached drive, where MW5 is installed there, Steam is installed on my first drive, and the program is running from my first drive.

Same issue. Steam on my main drive and library on another. Completely non functional. Nothing NTFS here, All EXt4.

I'll try and work on this, got a lot going on.

As a workaround, try temporarily renaming your steam folder so the manager doesn't detect steam. Then see if the setup wizard opens to point it to your skyrim.
Finally don't forget to change the steam folder name back.

If that doesn't work then, you'll have to wait until I can look into it. Apologies for the bug.

Edit: if you could post the full error, minus any of your drive info of course
