Unclear if documentation is inaccurate as the Learning room is configured differently from what's documented. Could also be an error when the bot set it up.
What you already tried
Referring to documentation under:
https://community-access.org/git-going-with-github/docs/04-the-learning-room.html
on how to use a learning room.
The section under the major heading "Step-by-Step: Accept Your Classroom Assignment and Open Your Repo" has an inconsistency under the minor heading "4. "Open your new repository"
The section reads:
- Activate the link to your repository. You land on the standard GitHub repo page for /learning-room-.
The page I landed on reads:
"welcome-to-git-going-with-github-DebeeArmstrong"
the word "learning room is not in that title.
It does say "learning room template created by github classroom".
However the previous steps worked as documented so perhaps this is working but documentation is not accurate.
- Verify three things on this page:
◦ The repo name in the heading matches learning-room-.
No, it matches"Community-Access/welcome-to-git-going-with-github-"
◦ The About sidebar (or repo description) confirms this is a private workshop copy.
I do not find the words "about" "private" or "description" on this page.
◦ You see folders like docs/, .github/, and files like README.md. These came from the template.
The readme and subdirectories do seem to be there, but again the challenges.md is missing from the docs directory. The readme is there however and tells me to go to the challenges.md document which does not exist.
When your Learning Room repo is ready, Challenge 1 appears as a GitHub issue in your >repo. The facilitators prepare this by running the Student Progression
Bot after students accept the Classroom assignment.
Again, there are zero issues.
For troubleshooting this chapter reads:
- Open the Actions tab and check whether the Student Progression Bot workflow ran >successfully.
Under actions there are workflows but nothing called a "Student Progression Bot workflow".
It seems like perhaps the bot failed to do everything it was expected it would do.
