The Licensed Work is (c) 2026 EVtivity.
Additional Use Grant:
You may use the Licensed Work in production without a commercial license under the following conditions:
- Single-operator deployment: You may run the Licensed Work to manage your own EV charging stations for your own business operations. This includes a single company, organization, or individual operating their own charging network.
- Single-vendor deployment: You may deploy the Licensed Work on behalf of a single end customer as part of a services engagement, provided the deployment serves only that one customer.
- Internal use: You may use the Licensed Work within your organization for internal charging infrastructure (e.g., workplace charging, fleet charging, property management).
- Multi-tenant SaaS: You may not offer the Licensed Work as a hosted service where multiple independent customers share a single deployment or where you manage charging networks for multiple unrelated organizations from one instance.
- Resale as a service: You may not resell, rebrand, or white-label the Licensed Work as a managed service or platform-as-a-service to multiple customers.
- Charging-as-a-Service platforms: You may not use the Licensed Work as the backend for a platform that onboards multiple independent charge point operators onto a shared infrastructure.
- Development and testing: Running the software in local, staging, or CI/CD environments for developing, testing, debugging, or evaluating the software.
- Demonstration: Running the software to demonstrate features to potential customers or stakeholders, provided no real end-user transactions are processed.
- Educational and academic use: Use in courses, research, and training at educational institutions.
- Non-profit use: Use by non-profit organizations (501(c)(3) or equivalent) for their own operations.
- Single-tenant means one organization controls the deployment and all data within it. Multiple user accounts within the same organization (e.g., site managers, fleet operators, drivers) are permitted.
- Multiple sites are permitted under a single-tenant deployment. A single operator managing 1 or 1,000 charging sites is permitted.
- Integrations with third-party services (payment processors, roaming networks, energy management systems) are permitted regardless of deployment type.
- Modifications and forks are permitted. You may modify the source code for your deployment. Modified versions remain subject to this license.
- If uncertain whether your use case qualifies, contact evtivity@gmail.com before deploying to production.
Change Date: Four years from the date each version of the Licensed Work is first made available.
Change License: Apache License, Version 2.0
The Licensor hereby grants you the right to copy, modify, create derivative works, redistribute, and make non-production use of the Licensed Work. The Licensor may make an Additional Use Grant, above, permitting limited production use.
Effective on the Change Date, or the fourth anniversary of the first publicly available distribution of a specific version of the Licensed Work, whichever comes first, the Licensor hereby grants you rights under the terms of the Change License, and the rights granted in the paragraph above terminate.
If your use of the Licensed Work does not comply with the requirements currently in effect as described in this License, you must purchase a commercial license from the Licensor, its affiliated entities, or authorized resellers, or you must refrain from using the Licensed Work.
All copies of the original and modified Licensed Work, and derivative works of the Licensed Work, are subject to this License. This License applies separately for each version of the Licensed Work and the Change Date may vary for each version of the Licensed Work released by the Licensor.
You must conspicuously display this License on each original or modified copy of the Licensed Work. If you receive the Licensed Work in original or modified form from a third party, the terms and conditions set forth in this License apply to your use of that work.
Any use of the Licensed Work in violation of this License will automatically terminate your rights under this License for the current and all other versions of the Licensed Work.
This License does not grant you any right in any trademark or logo of the Licensor or its affiliates. "EVtivity," the EVtivity logo, and associated visual branding are trademarks of EVtivity. Modified or redistributed versions of the Licensed Work must not use the EVtivity name, logo, or branding as their own product identity or in any way that implies endorsement by or official affiliation with EVtivity. Derivative works must retain the following attribution in a prominent location (e.g., application footer, about page, or README): "Based on EVtivity CSMS (https://evtivity.com)".
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE LICENSED WORK IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS. LICENSOR HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING (WITHOUT LIMITATION) WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND TITLE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT, PERSONAL INJURY, OR DEATH) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE LICENSED WORK, EVEN IF THE LICENSOR HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE LICENSEE ASSUMES ALL RESPONSIBILITY AND RISK FOR THE SELECTION, USE, AND RESULTS OBTAINED FROM THE LICENSED WORK. THE LICENSOR PROVIDES NO SUPPORT, MAINTENANCE, OR OPERATIONAL ASSISTANCE UNLESS SEPARATELY AGREED IN WRITING UNDER A COMMERCIAL LICENSE.
