Camera app barely registers video microphone sound

My camera app barely registers video sound. Tried everything i can think of...

• Phone call microphone sound works fine.
• I toggled all the microphone settings.
• I set the sound permissions.
• I set the file permissions etc.
• Mute is not on.
• I used my headphone speakers and microphone still won't work
• Open Camera app experiences the same issue

I can hear the microphone sound on video playback (barely).

I installed Libre Videos app to test but the file permissions won't function. Help!
