Work Item Children for custom attribute script

I have been working on a project that requires me to access the child(ren) of a work item through a custom attribute script. Is there an easy way to access a work items children and its data (ex: type, id, etc.)?

There is, as far as I know, no documented, public available API in the attribute customization Javascript API that allows to access work item links. See https://rsjazz.wordpress.com/2022/11/25/ewm-attribute-customization-introduction/ for more information.
