Thrustmaster T300RS doesn't work with AMS1 or Race07, only certain effects work like curbs and impact

It's the same thing like this #101 more or less, Linux Mint, games are on Steam, i get only curb effects but no ffb (AMS1 has options to choose only ffb and ffb+effects so i get feedback only when effects are on). I'm fresh to Linux, maybe i missed something or put it in a wrong place. Oversteer sees the wheel, the game sees it, it works but no ffb. I can provide any additional info if needed. Tnx.

Edit - the wheel works with AMS2, Nascar Racing 2003 and Assetto Corsa.

Edit2 - F1 Challenge 99-02, another ISI engine game, has the same issues as AMS1 and Race 07.

Hi, sorry for the delay. If other games seem to work, it's probably either that that AMS1 uses the FFB API in a weird way that this driver isn't reacting correctly to, or that there's something iffy in Wine/Proton, causing the game to send incorrect effects to the wheel. To figure out which option we might be dealing with, we should check if the game itself is sending effects to the wheel, and what those effects look like. Please follow the guide and report back with some captures. Shorter captures are generally preferable, for example you could try to just drive over a curb as quickly as possible so we can (hopefully) see what 'normal' effects look like compared to 'curb' effects.

Hey man, no rush, i appreciate your work so far. I'm just going to paste summary of my interaction with AI, i tried to see if it might come with some ideas how to fix it but with no luck (i'm not surprised, but it helps me with linux since i'm noob and don't know how to check stuff trough terminal). If anything, AI is ok in summing up things.

Force feedback constant, spring, and damper effects fail to produce any physical output in ISI/gMotor2-engine racing titles (Automobilista, Race 07, F1 Challenge 99-02) running under Wine/Proton, while short one-shot effects (kerb/impact jolts, rumble) work correctly. This reproduces across multiple Proton versions (6.3-8 through current, plus Proton-GE), so it doesn't appear to be a simple Proton-version regression.
Things tested that didn't change the behavior:

Kernel driver / hardware: fftest against the raw /dev/input/eventX device successfully uploads and plays Constant, Periodic, Spring, Damper, and Rumble effects with full physical response, suggesting the driver and hardware work correctly outside of Wine.
Game FFB config: Tried FFB Skip Updates=0 (full update rate) and Reset FFB Time (forcing periodic effect recreation) in Automobilista's controller.ini (my player folder).
Driver-side gain toggling: Patched hid-tmff2 to ignore repeated gain=0 commands (a known issue affecting other titles, e.g. AMS2/hid-tmff2#101). Kernel logs confirm the game does send frequent gain=0 packets and the patch suppresses them as intended, but FFB output was unchanged.
Steam Input: disabled per-game.
Proton version: reproduced on Proton 6.3-8, 7.0-5, Proton Experimental, and latest Proton-GE.

None of the above appeared to affect the outcome, which points toward something at the Wine DirectInput layer rather than the driver, game config, or Proton build.

System: Linux Mint, Thrustmaster T300RS (PS3 mode) via hid-tmff2 kernel driver, confirmed working via fftest.

Currently i can't work with the wheel but i might get the tests to capture what effects a game sends to the driver this weekend.
