Description

@shidel

Here is the technical analysis of the Frequently-Asked Questions section of the Interrupt List update, prepared for an American developer.

  1. [TYPO] – Spelling & Grammar

    No errors found. The spelling and grammar in this section are perfect and consistent with standard American English.

  2. [TECH] – Technical Accuracy & Modern Context

    Unique Machine Identification:

     Observation: The answer correctly addresses why "BIOS serial numbers" (often just BIOS version/ID strings) are not useful for machine identification.

     Suggestion: For a 2026 update, it might be beneficial to add a cross-reference or a note regarding SMBIOS (System Management BIOS) or DMI (Desktop Management Interface). While Ralf Brown’s original answer is historically correct regarding the "power-up screen string," unique per-machine serial numbers are now standard in SMBIOS tables (accessible via INT 15/AX=E842h on some systems or by scanning memory for the _SM_ anchor).

     Drafting thought: "For unique hardware identification, see SMBIOS/DMI structures."

  3. [FORMAT] – Alignment & Structure

    Divider Line: The divider --------!---FAQ:0001------------------------- is correctly formatted.

    Indentation: The 3-space indentation for the body of the answer is consistent with the classic RBIL FAQ style.

[SUMMARY OVERVIEW FOR THIS BLOCK]

This section is extremely clean and requires no corrections. It preserves the original voice of Ralf Brown while maintaining the structural integrity of the list.
