[Bug] Steam Deck Game Mode Touchscreen Not Working

Prerequisites

• I am confident that my issue has not been reported already in open OR closed issues.
• I am able to reliably reproduce the issue on the latest stable or canary version.
• I am not using an unofficial build (Flatpak, Emudeck, etc.).
• I am a silly goose and didn't read these boxes.
• I am a silly goose and DID read these boxes.

Description of the issue

The touchscreen on the Steam Deck is not working. Some troubleshooting was attempted in the discord and Console Mode is somehow detected as "none" which could probably be part of it. Everything works as expected in Desktop mode.
I use Steam Rom Manager to launch games, however launching Ryujinx directly through Steam also did not help.

Reproduction steps

Play any game with touchscreen support in Game mode (not desktop mode).

not working for me either. i've seen people say to uncheck "direct mouse input", but mine is already unchecked. this is still happening on the newest canary version as well

"me too" is not helpful. It's a bug, it's going to affect everyone that is using the program on the Steam Deck. Please refrain from commenting unless you have something to add to the conversation.

Ive also ran into the same issue! It seems that a workaround using the mative steamdecks controller configuration cant even help with the issue. have you since found a soloution?

tried multiple things to no avail.
no launch options have helped. for a bit i thought it was related to wayland itself but running the desktop mode through wayland still resulted in the touchscreen working.
it must be something related to gamescope itself specifically. not sure what that is, but i have a feeling the fact mouse input does not work in the settings (requiring tab+enter for navigation) is related to this issue.
