The purpose of this privacy policy is to clearly explain how CatColab uses (or does not use) your personal information and data.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this privacy policy, then please send an email to catcolab@topos.institute.
Notebooks created in CatColab are stored unencrypted on our database, which means that some members of the development team are theoretically able to view their contents. However, this is not something that we do.
There is a private CI action that periodically checks that all notebooks on the production database are valid (i.e. contain no breaking errors), which could potentially leak certain metadata such as titles of notebooks and usernames. However, this data is viewable only by the core senior development team.
We do not directly collect or store any routine information (such as IP addresses, user agents, referring pages) from users.
We do not set any cookies as Firebase uses JWTs for authentication.
We use a number of third-party tools as part of the CatColab web application. We take care to keep privacy in mind when selecting which tools we use, but we list below those that have substantial privacy policies or information themselves for your reference.
- Netlify
- Google Fonts
- Firebase

This privacy policy is effective as of appearance and will remain in effect except for any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately upon changes to this document being merged into the main branch.
We reserve the right to update or change this privacy policy at any time.
