So the newer release of prometheus operator has added features that may make it easier to supports adding Service Discovery based on prometheus.io/scrape annotations.

• Allow specifying additional scrape configs via secret
• Allow specifying additional AlertManager configs via secret

This might also make your custom slack messages a little easier to add.
