The idea is very cool. Something for you to consider:
Most of the CS academic community write in LaTeX using tools such as TeX studio.
Your editor is built around the core feature of searching references as you write which is very cool but lacks many features required for efficient and effective academic writing that exist in more mature tools.
Have you considered creating your tool as a fork of TeXStudio or a plug-in to it?
