2. Text Content

When you use our extension to generate or modify text:

  • The text you select or input is sent directly to OpenAI's API
  • We do not store, log, or retain any of your text content
  • Text processing occurs through direct API calls to OpenAI
  • No text data is stored on our servers

3. User Preferences

Settings such as your preferred AI model and writing style are:

  • Stored locally in your browser
  • Never transmitted to our servers
  • Used only to customize your experience with the extension

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties. The only data transmitted outside your browser is:

  • Text sent directly to OpenAI for processing
  • Your OpenAI API key (sent only to OpenAI for authentication)

Data Security

Since all user data is stored locally in your browser, we do not maintain servers that store your information. Your OpenAI API key and preferences are protected by your browser's security mechanisms.

Third-Party Services

TextMate uses OpenAI's API to provide its core functionality. When you use our extension:

  • Your text is processed according to OpenAI's privacy policy
  • Your API key is used according to OpenAI's terms of service
