She focuses on the human aspects of software engineering by studying and modeling programmer behavior and designing mixed-initiative systems that support human-computer collaboration. Dr. Kuttal is a recipient of the prestigious NSF CAREER Award and the AFOSR Young Investigator Program (YIP) Award. Her work has earned several accolades, including a Best Paper Award at ACM CHI, a Best Paper Award at ACM/IEEE ICGSE, two Honorable Mentions at ACM CHI, and an Honorable Mention at ACM DIS. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Computer Languages and is a Vice Chair and Steering Committee Member for the IEEE Symposium on Visual Languages and Human-Centric Computing (VL/HCC).
