Installing Arch Alongside Windows.

I want to install Arch Linux Alongside an existing Windows install on the same drive, but I was left wondering. Will it format my whole drive?
I do know solutions like Manual Partitioning but when i saw people on the internet do it, it gave them a warning beforehand saying "Formatting /dev/sda in 5...4...3...2...1..." and I do NOT want for that to happen, since the Windows copy i have is government issued.

A simple answer would be nice, thanks!

yo bro i did that same things a month ago, i dual booted arch btw.
no it wont do that the drive the you are talking about, is of formating the partition of that drive no the whole drive.
