Installing from source?

I wanted to add the extensions from http://github.com/markhuot/projectplus or http://github.com/georgkreimer/projectplus to work better with Snow Leopard. But how do I install from cloning the source on github. If I run rake, I am told:
no such file to load -- osx/cocoa

So do I have to run it on MacRuby?
