Relevant environment info
- OS: macOS
- Continue version: 1.2.17
- IDE version: VSCode 1.112.0
Description
Typing a prompt in the chat input without submitting it, navigating to another view within the Continue extension (e.g., Settings or Chat History), and then returning to the chat causes the drafted text to be lost.
This is similar to #3806 (which was about moving/dragging the panel), but occurs when navigating between views within the extension itself.
Expected behavior:
The unsent prompt text should be preserved when navigating away from and back to the chat view.
To reproduce
- Open Continue in VS Code
- Type some text in the chat input (do not submit it)
- Click on Settings or Chat History
- Navigate back to the chat view
- The previously typed text is gone
