Run command in readme fails on Docker 1.10.0

Similar issue here.
I have been running systemd inside docker for months now using fedora images.
(I made my own images and containers with slight modifications based on this article: http://developers.redhat.com/blog/2014/05/05/running-systemd-within-docker-container)
In unprivileged containers it used to be enough to add a read only bind mount to /sys/fs/cgroup up till docker 1.9.X. In docker 1.10 this changed, privileged containers still work, but with unprivileged ones the containers systemd give the following error:
[!!!!!!] Failed to mount API filesystems, freezing.

I read that cgroupdriver mixes sysfs and systemd api, and some work has been done in 1.10 to make things cleaner. That apparently broke the containers sysfs cgroup in a way systemd couldn't work any longer. I tried to start the docker daemon --exec-opt native.cgroupdriver=systemd and =cgroup as well, sadly it didn't make any difference.
I've been so happy with the unprivileged solution, please make it work again!
Currently I downgraded to 1.9. My predicament here is that I would like to use docker compose version 2 yml's, which requires docker 1.10, but then systemd inside docker seems to be broken.
