The below is my preliminary analysis on root cause.

PR [#15306] (commit 11cbc43) upgraded simdjson from 3.13.0 → 4.1.0. In simdjson 4.x, at_path() strictly follows RFC 6901 (JSON Pointer), which does not support the [] wildcard syntax. Previously, simdjson 3.x accepted [] permissively. Since [GetJsonObject.h] passes the normalized path directly to at_path(), all wildcard paths now return error/NULL.

The wildcard is currently not supported in Velox. So I assume it's not simply caused by the upgrade for simdjson.
