<strong>Xuejiao Xu</strong> majored in Agriculture Entomology and Pest Management
in Fujian
Agriculture and
Forestry University. During 2019 to 2021, she studied in the Pirbirght Institute in the UK as a
visiting
student, testing a CRISPR-based split drive system in the economically important agricultural pest
<em>Plutella
xylostella</em>. She joined the Champer Lab in July 2021 shortly after obtaining her PhD. Xuejiao went on in November 2025 to a senior scientist position at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, Tokyo.

<strong>Yuan Hu Allegretti</strong> obtained a Ph.D. in Epidemiology with a Graduate Certificate in Applied Data Science from
University of California Berkeley in 2021. She received a M.P.H. in Epidemiology from University of California Berkeley in 2018
and a M.S. and B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Tokyo in 2016 and 2014, respectively. Yuan joined the Champer
lab in April 2022, with a joint appointment at the Tsinghua AIR. She completed her postdoc in December 2023 and took up a job as a scientific journal editor.

<strong>Shibo Hou</strong> obtained a Master of Research degree from the Systems and Synthetic Biology
program at Imperial College London, where she focused on studying the development of CRISPR/Cas9 gene
drives for sex conversion in medfly. With a strong interest in molecular biology and genetic engineering,
she is excited to apply her skills to ongoing research efforts that utilize innovative technology to
address important biological questions. She joined the Champer lab at Peking University in February 2023. Shibo began the University fo Michigan PhD program in Fall 2024.

<strong>Jingheng Chen</strong> obtained a Master's degree at Imperial College of London. He tested a
CRISPR-Cas13d based gene drive strategy targeting melanisation in the <em>Anopheles gambiae</em> as his research project.
He joined the Champer lab at Peking University in December 2021. Jingheng began the Duke University PhD program in Fall 2024.

<strong>Ziqian Xu</strong> obtained an MSci degree in Biochemistry at University College London
in 2021. He joined the Champer lab remotely in October 2021 and started a research project on
population modelling. Ziqian went on to join the Biology DPhil program at the University of Oxford
in October 2022.

<strong>Chenyi Chu</strong> obtained a Ph.D. in epidemiology and health statistics from Beijing
Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Academy of Military Medical Sciences in 2009. She then worked as an assistant
research fellow and associate research fellow at the Institute of Disease Control and Prevention until
2019. During 2013 to 2015, she received the postdoctoral training at Rocky Mountain Laboratories, NIAID, NIH.
Chenyi joined the Champer lab in March 2021 and formally started when the lab opened in May 2021. Chenyi left
for a research post in the United States in August 2022.

<br />
<strong>Mingzuyu Pan</strong> was a senior undergraduate student at Beijing Normal University,
majoring in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. She joined the Champer lab in March 2022 for
her research project and undergraduate thesis. Mingzuyu joined the bioinformatics PhD program at Pennsylvania State University in 2023.
