Our work includes all of the FT’s <ahref="https://ig.ft.com/us-elections/2024/results/president/">live election-night results coverage, pre-election <ahref="https://ig.ft.com/uk-general-election/2024/projection/?syn-25a6b1a6=1&constituency=E14001172">polling analysis and news dashboards based on <ahref="https://www.ft.com/content/2c473393-35fb-479d-8bba-236a1a98087c?syn-25a6b1a6=1">live-updating markets and economics data.

Previously, I managed the Interactive News desk — a team of journalists, designers and web developers who created new digital storytelling formats, including early multimedia <ahref="http://ig.ft.com/sites/2013/seasonal-appeal/">visual stories, interactive news applications, and <ahref="https://www.ft.com/podcasts">podcasts.

Before joining the FT in 2010, I was <ahref="http://www.retail-week.com/martin-stabe/1216.bio">online editor of <ahref="http://www.retail-week.com">Retail Week magazine. I began my career in 2006 as a reporter <ahref="https://pressgazette.co.uk/?s=Martin+Stabe">covering digital media for Press Gazette, the UK trade magazine for journalists. (Sadly much of the work I did there has succumbed to link rot.)

Born in Germany and raised in New York City, I moved to Britain in 1997. I studied journalism at <ahref="https://www.citystgeorges.ac.uk/about/schools/communication-creativity/journalism">City University of London (Now City St George’s), political sociology at the <ahref="https://www.lse.ac.uk/study-at-lse/graduate/msc-political-sociology">London School of Economics, and north American politics at the <ahref="https://www.sussex.ac.uk/americanstudies/">University of Sussex. I spent the third year of my undergraduate degree at <ahref="http://www.northwestern.edu">Northwestern University outside Chicago.

I played baseball in Britain’s top league for a decade, winning three national championships with the now-defunct <ahref="https://www.brightonbaseball.co.uk/about-us">Brighton Buccaneers and later joining the <ahref="http://www.londonmets.org/">London Mets. This may explain my occasional outbursts of excitement when <ahref="https://britishbaseball.org.uk/great-britain-baseball/">Great Britain is playing in some obscure international tournament or any European team overachieves at the World Baseball Classic. I’m also a long-suffering fan of the <ahref="https://www.mlb.com/mets">New York Mets.
