@brayantz sorry this isn't working and thanks for reporting. I'm unable to reproduce the exact error message X.agents\skills\matlab-write-help\SKILL.md: argument-hint must be a string. None of the skills in the MATLAB Agentic Toolkit have a metadata field called argument-hint.

Here's what I've found:

• If I install just a small number of skills (I installed matlab-core, parallel-computing, and model-based-design-core from Simulink Agentic Toolkit) I don't get any errors.
• If I install all skill groups in the MATLAB Agentic Toolkit, I get the error ! Failed to load 1 skill. Run /skills for more details. But then running /skills shows a checkmark next to every single skill, indicating that none are in error state.

Did you install all skill groups? There are known issues with agents struggling with a large number of skills, or explicitly dropping skills if there are too many. I recommend that you install just the skill groups you think you need. Could you try this and let us know if you still have an error?

I just installed the six matlab-* skills . However, when I run /skills, I get the following error: The following skills failed to load: X.agents\skills\matlab-write-help\SKILL.md: argument-hint must be a string

Thanks so much for the additional detail. I've reproduced the issue and identified the (very easy!) fix. I should get that out in the release this week.

The workaround in the meantime is to edit the file X.agents\skills\matlab-write-help\SKILL.md: Change line 5 from:

argument-hint: [name-or-path]

to

argument-hint: "[name-or-path]"
