Update Desktop App user settings and email link actions #8961

@Combs7th

Description

@Combs7th

@claude - Please review the following Mattermost Desktop engineering PRs for product documentation impact:

mattermost/desktop#3672
mattermost/desktop#3777

Goal:
Draft a minimal Mattermost Product Documentation update for end-user Desktop App behavior/settings from Mattermost Desktop v6.2.0 onward.

Scope:

  • End-user-facing docs only.
  • Focus on what users can now do.
  • Do not document implementation details, code paths, tests, or internal Electron behavior.
  • Do not modify changelogs, upgrade notes, version archive, deprecated/removed feature pages, or unsupported-release docs.
  • Use the PR milestone version if present. If no milestone is present, mark the version as: [NOT PRESENT IN PR — REQUIRES HUMAN JUDGMENT].

Likely doc touchpoint:

  • Desktop App customization/preferences docs, likely:
    source/end-user-guide/preferences/customize-desktop-app-experience.rst

Required updates:

  1. Add the Linux-only Desktop App setting for using native window decorations / native title bar.

    • Mention that users must restart the Desktop App for the setting to apply, if supported by PR evidence.
    • Only mention the Alt-key access behavior for popout menus if it is clearly present in the PR.
  2. Add the new right-click context menu option for mailto links.

    • Users can right-click a mailto link and select Copy Email Address.
    • The copied value should be the email address only, without the mailto: prefix or query parameters, if supported by PR evidence.

Required output:

  1. Confirm the exact PR evidence that supports each docs update.
  2. Identify the exact docs page/file to update.
  3. Provide a ready-to-apply docs patch or before/after copy.
  4. Keep the update short and user-facing.
  5. Explicitly flag anything not present in the PRs as: [NOT PRESENT IN PR — REQUIRES HUMAN JUDGMENT].
