In the present firmware v1.16.0 the LNA from the Heltec v4.3 defaults to OFF
What I see in de dev section is that in the upcomming firmware this defaults to ON
For example MyMesh.cpp in simple repeater it says _prefs.radio_fem_rxgain = 1;
When the LNA is enabled the noise floor increases dramatically from +/- -115db to -95db
also the SNR gets worse and even more worse on signals that are close to the noise floor.
It is also generally known that a Heltec v4.3 performs better with the LNA set to OFF,
the sx126x already has a LNA on it's own.
So it could be possible for people that switch to a newer firmware that suddenly things do not
work as they worked before and it can take a long time to discover it is the LNA.
I think it would be better to keep the default to OFF like in v1.16.0 and for people that now already
use the LNA they can switch it on with the CLI command , set radio.fem.rxgain on
