adding custom string to i18n

Hi,

How do I add custom strings to i18n that can be used in custom components?

I've tried to add the i18n\locales\en.json in both locations: the root and app folder, but neither seems to work.

This is the correct format for custom translations. It works well for me.
The i18n/locales/en.json file should work when placed in root.

I also added file: "en.json" in my nuxt.config.ts.

  i18n: {
    defaultLocale: "en",
    locales: [
      {
        code: "en",
        name: "English",
        file: "en.json",
      }
   ]
 }

Inside your custom component, make sure you're using:

const { t } = useDocusI18n();

(depending on your project structure and i18n setup).
