After ui/ux feedback designer provide some mockup on how they want resize looks like.

So resize behavior should look like this:

1. Card should only resize to predefined sizes (S,M, XL). This step should be configurable. In ideal keep current behavior + possiblitity to have new one

2. When user start resizing we should add a shadow of future component space. We have it currently but need to be sure that it's would work with new predefined width approach and change color of the shadow.
