How to use the ADR

Discussion Management

The goal of this system is to keep track of all architecture changes in the repo, so every decision has a clear history and rationale.

Every discussion in the Architecture Decision Record (ADR) covers one specific part of the Splinter3D software (e.g. "Folder Structure", "3D Graphics Library").

⚠️ Before creating a new discussion, search existing discussions first to make sure a topic doesn't already exist. This avoids duplicate or fragmented discussions for the same part of the software.

If a discussion already exists for the topic

Do not edit the discussion body. Instead, add a comment using this template:

## Changes
List of all the changes.

## Reason
Explain why this change was made.

## Implementation
Link to the PR where the change takes place.

If a discussion does not exist yet

1. Create a new discussion with just a short summary as the body — no detailed changes here.
2. Click Start Discussion.
3. Add a comment to that discussion using the same template above, with the actual changes/reason/implementation.

Example:

New discussion: Window Manager
Body: "This discussion tracks all changes related to the window manager."

Then, comment on the discussion using the Changes / Reason / Implementation template.
