From 90e5450bb9c7b983e92e0ef703f2ab2745bf0391 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Remigiusz Antczak Date: Sun, 25 Oct 2026 07:45:35 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] Guard wave 7: storage, backup and hosted-platform CLIs, cwd-aware rm; blind held-out-10 The destructive guard now blocks rclone purge/delete/sync, restic forget/prune, zfs/zpool destroy, lvremove/vgremove/pvremove, firebase/supabase/vercel/netlify/wrangler deletes and `supabase db reset --linked`, a relative `rm -r` after `cd /abs`, variable-held flags inside `bash -c`, ln onto shell startup files and ~/.ssh, rsync/scp to host:/etc, vault operator seal/rekey, reg add under HKCU/HKU Software Classes, wmic call reboot, ClickHouse ALTER DELETE/DROP PARTITION/clickhouse-local, a SQL client fed `< file.sql` that drops, make nuke/uninstall at root, mongosh bulkWrite deletes, and sqlite3 `.shell env sh`. cp of a .bak/.orig/.old onto a system path is no longer exempt. Benign forms now allowed (single-action find only, void after a cd to an absolute, ~, $var or .. target and with -L/-H/-follow): find -delete/-exec rm under a named relative dir or with a sole artifact glob, `echo ./a | xargs -I{} rm -rf {}`, wipefs without -a/-o, shred inside $TMPDIR or /tmp. Held-out-10 (preregistered before scoring, ledger.jsonl): guard on main and wave 6 blocked 44/60 with 6/60 benign blocked; hooks-mastery 13/60 (FP 9); safety-net 14/60 (FP 4, 1 unported). Wave 7 scores 60/60 with FP 1/60 on it (git reset --hard HEAD, a disputed label: the guard keeps blocking it because it discards uncommitted work); the corpus is now in-sample; the blind rows are pinned in test_security_gates_heldout10_blind.py. Held-out-8 and 9 stay 60/60, FP 0. Tests: 23/23 security gate scripts, test-destructive-guard 16/16, test_audit_skills 11/11, ci-tests.d all pass (run-ledger, prepush-ci-parity, bench-check skipped), size-ratchet ok, git diff --check clean Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_014QNFFPWVcPUbeuvwM5fk2Z --- .../scripts/destructive_guard.py | 150 ++++++++++++++---- .../security-gates-heldout10-1025/README.md | 16 ++ .../security-gates-heldout10-1025/RESULTS.md | 21 +++ .../SHA256-frozen.txt | 2 + .../destructive-benign.txt | 60 +++++++ .../destructive-dangerous.txt | 60 +++++++ .../ledger.jsonl | 1 + scripts/test_security_gates_guard_w6.py | 1 - scripts/test_security_gates_guard_w7.py | 66 ++++++++ scripts/test_security_gates_heldout10.py | 30 ++++ .../test_security_gates_heldout10_blind.py | 10 ++ 11 files changed, 385 insertions(+), 32 deletions(-) create mode 100644 docs/bench/security-gates-heldout10-1025/README.md create mode 100644 docs/bench/security-gates-heldout10-1025/RESULTS.md create mode 100644 docs/bench/security-gates-heldout10-1025/SHA256-frozen.txt create mode 100644 docs/bench/security-gates-heldout10-1025/destructive-benign.txt create mode 100644 docs/bench/security-gates-heldout10-1025/destructive-dangerous.txt create mode 100644 docs/bench/security-gates-heldout10-1025/ledger.jsonl create mode 100644 scripts/test_security_gates_guard_w7.py create mode 100644 scripts/test_security_gates_heldout10.py create mode 100644 scripts/test_security_gates_heldout10_blind.py diff --git a/.claude/skills/agentic-delivery/scripts/destructive_guard.py b/.claude/skills/agentic-delivery/scripts/destructive_guard.py index bb622ecf2..1b0243a31 100644 --- a/.claude/skills/agentic-delivery/scripts/destructive_guard.py +++ b/.claude/skills/agentic-delivery/scripts/destructive_guard.py @@ -46,7 +46,7 @@ `git push --force-with-lease` to main/master, `git worktree remove --force`, a secret variable in a curl/wget URL query, `aws s3 rm --recursive|s3 rb --force|ec2 terminate-instances|rds delete-db-*`, `gcloud projects delete`, `az group delete`, `terraform|tofu destroy|apply -destroy`, `kubectl delete namespace|all --all`, - `redis-cli FLUSHALL|FLUSHDB`, mongo `dropDatabase`, `wipefs` (not `-n`), `diskutil eraseDisk|eraseVolume|...`, + `redis-cli FLUSHALL|FLUSHDB`, mongo `dropDatabase`, `wipefs -a|-o` (not `-n`; a bare listing is fine), `diskutil eraseDisk|eraseVolume|...`, and `eval`/`sh` of a `$(... base64 -d|xxd -r|printf hex-escape ...)` payload; also package `unpublish|yank|purge`, any `aws delete-*|terminate-*|purge-*`, `gcloud ... delete`, `gsutil rm -r`, `az ... delete|purge`, `kubectl delete --all|drain`, `docker|podman|nerdctl exec|run IMG CMD` and `kubectl exec -- CMD` (CMD is checked), `>>`/`tee` onto a system file, `gh delete`, `curl -X DELETE`, @@ -54,11 +54,15 @@ alias to a destructive command and one-step `x=rm; $x -rf` indirection; wave 6: `tmutil delete`, `cdk|cdktf|sst destroy`, `doctl ... delete`, `flyctl|heroku` destroy, `hg strip|purge`, `make clean VAR=/`, `gem uninstall` of everything, `diskutil apfs delete*`, `set -- rm ...; "$@"`, `kubectl run` with hostPID/privileged/hostPath, `ln|rsync` onto a system path, vault revoke/policy delete, `git reflog delete`, `reg add|save HKLM`, - `wmic ... call create|uninstall`, and Windows `del` of a system file, a `..` path or a bare `*`/`*.*`. Row format is `idcmd`, one command per line. +2. Dangerous rows are irreversible or data-destroying and biased toward evasion: variable indirection, inline aliases and functions, subshells, here-strings, quoting tricks, env/sudo/nice/timeout/stdbuf wrappers, find/xargs chains, PowerShell aliases, Windows cmd, and less common tools (rclone, restic, zfs, lvm, wipefs, shred, firebase, supabase, vercel, netlify, pulumi, docker prune, gcloud). +3. Benign rows are near-miss twins: dry-run flags, `--help`, quoted mentions, read-only listings, scoped cleanup under `./build` or `/tmp`. +4. Placeholders only (Acme, example.com); no secret-like strings or real identifiers. +5. Frozen by `SHA256-frozen.txt`; `ledger.jsonl` records the hash of that file. The ported hooks-mastery rules blocked 13 of 60 (9 benign blocked) and the ported claude-code-safety-net subset 14 of 60 (1 unported, 4 benign blocked). The guard rows are blind: no rule was tuned toward this corpus when they were scored. It is in-sample since wave 7 (see below). + +**In-sample since wave 7.** The wave-7 rules were written against this corpus's 16 misses and 6 false positives (plus review leads), so the guard now scores 60 of 60 blocked with 1 of 60 benign blocked on it (`git reset --hard HEAD`, whose benign label is disputed: it discards uncommitted work, so the guard keeps blocking it and counts the row as a false positive); that number is tuned to the corpus and is not a generalization claim.
