From 7c3c1c8cf02ac5a5dfdeb339f728ad45e5509c28 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Remigiusz Antczak Date: Sun, 25 Oct 2026 09:51:22 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] Guard wave 8: disk zap, key truncation, npm ownership, LVM/ZFS/restic folds; blind held-out-11 The destructive guard now blocks sgdisk zap/clear, truncation of private keys and credential files (`> f`, `: > f`, `cat /dev/null > f`, truncate, cp/mv/install /dev/null, dd of=), npm/pnpm deprecate (non-empty message) and owner rm, restic key remove and unlock --remove-all, lvresize unless every size is +N, pvcreate -ff, zfs receive -F and zpool create -f. A padded body of 20 KB or more that uses a variable after nested expansion is skipped now fails closed. Allowed: `git clean -f` of named relative paths (not `.`, `..`, absolute, globbed, after a cd elsewhere, or with -C/--git-dir/--work-tree) and `git stash drop stash@{N}` of one stash. `git reset --hard HEAD` stays blocked. Held-out-11 (preregistered before scoring): guard before review 57/60 blocked, 2/60 benign blocked; on main 57/60 with 3/60 (the extra is git reset --hard HEAD, a disputed label); safety-net ported 17/60 (1 unported, FP 7); hooks-mastery 9/60 (FP 6). Wave 8 scores 60/60 with 1/60 on it, now in-sample; the blind rows are pinned in test_security_gates_heldout11_blind.py. Held-out 8, 9 and 10 keep their pinned numbers. Tests: 26/26 security gate scripts, test-destructive-guard 16/16, test_audit_skills ok, ci-tests.d all pass (run-ledger, prepush-ci-parity, bench-check skipped), size-ratchet ok, privacy clean, git diff --check clean Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_014QNFFPWVcPUbeuvwM5fk2Z --- .../scripts/destructive_guard.py | 72 ++++++++++++++----- .../security-gates-heldout11-1025/README.md | 16 +++++ .../security-gates-heldout11-1025/RESULTS.md | 23 ++++++ .../SHA256-frozen.txt | 2 + .../destructive-benign.txt | 60 ++++++++++++++++ .../destructive-dangerous.txt | 60 ++++++++++++++++ .../ledger.jsonl | 1 + scripts/test_security_gates_guard_w8.py | 60 ++++++++++++++++ .../test_security_gates_heldout11_blind.py | 34 +++++++++ 9 files changed, 310 insertions(+), 18 deletions(-) create mode 100644 docs/bench/security-gates-heldout11-1025/README.md create mode 100644 docs/bench/security-gates-heldout11-1025/RESULTS.md create mode 100644 docs/bench/security-gates-heldout11-1025/SHA256-frozen.txt create mode 100644 docs/bench/security-gates-heldout11-1025/destructive-benign.txt create mode 100644 docs/bench/security-gates-heldout11-1025/destructive-dangerous.txt create mode 100644 docs/bench/security-gates-heldout11-1025/ledger.jsonl create mode 100644 scripts/test_security_gates_guard_w8.py create mode 100644 scripts/test_security_gates_heldout11_blind.py diff --git a/.claude/skills/agentic-delivery/scripts/destructive_guard.py b/.claude/skills/agentic-delivery/scripts/destructive_guard.py index 1b0243a31..0ee1c9238 100644 --- a/.claude/skills/agentic-delivery/scripts/destructive_guard.py +++ b/.claude/skills/agentic-delivery/scripts/destructive_guard.py @@ -57,7 +57,7 @@ `wmic ... call create|uninstall`, and Windows `del` of a system file, a `..` path or a bare `*`/`*.*`; wave 7: `rclone purge|delete|sync`, `restic forget|prune`, `zfs|zpool destroy`, `lvremove|vgremove|pvremove`, `firebase|supabase|vercel|netlify|wrangler ... delete|remove|rm`, `supabase db reset --linked`, a relative `rm -r` after `cd /abs`, `bash -c 'f=-rf; rm $f X'`, `ln` onto `~/.ssh|.bashrc|.zshrc`, `rsync|scp` to `host:/etc/`, `vault operator seal|rekey`, `reg add` under HKCU|HKU Software Classes, - `wmic ... call reboot`, ClickHouse `ALTER TABLE ... The ported hooks-mastery rules blocked 9 of 60 (6 benign blocked) and the ported claude-code-safety-net subset 17 of 60 (1 unported, 7 benign blocked). The guard rows are blind: no rule was tuned toward this corpus when they were scored. + +**In-sample since wave 8.** The wave-8 rules were written against this corpus's 3 misses and 3 false positives, so the guard now scores 60 of 60 blocked with 1 of 60 benign blocked on it (`git reset --hard HEAD`, still blocked because it discards uncommitted work; counted as a false positive); that number is tuned to the corpus and is not a generalization claim. The blind rows remain the out-of-sample result.
