% ==== PROFILE ====
\section{Profile}
Senior software engineer and engineering leader with 25+ years of experience in
financial technology. My career sits at the intersection of three things: hands-on
backend development, close engagement with front-office business users, and
end-to-end team and product leadership. I have built low-latency trading systems,
market-making infrastructure, and algorithmic trading engines at Deutsche Bank and
IMC Trading, and have spent the past decade at LGT ILS Partners designing and
delivering a full portfolio management platform from scratch---now serving as Head
Application Development. I am equally comfortable writing and reviewing
production code, sitting with a portfolio manager to understand what they actually
need, or driving a team through a complex multi-year delivery.

% ==== EXPERIENCE ====
\section{Experience}
\job{LGT ILS Partners}{https://lgtcp.com}{Head Application Development}{2013 -- Present}
LGT ILS Partners is a specialist insurance-linked securities (ILS) manager,
investing institutional capital into catastrophe bonds and collateralized
reinsurance instruments. I joined as a software developer to extend an existing
Java/Swing portfolio
management tool; as business requirements grew, it became clear that the firm
needed a new platform built from the ground up, and I led that effort from
initial design through to production.
The platform---built in C\#, MS SQL and React---has become the core operational
system for the front office, covering:
\begin{itemize}
\item Position tracking and performance calculation across ILS product types
\item Risk management
\item Reconciliation with fund administration
\item FIX integration and SWIFT data processing
\item Data feeds from multiple external and internal providers
\item Reporting and business intelligence
\end{itemize}
As the project grew, my role evolved from lead developer into Head of Application
Development, leading a team of four with occasional support from other parts of
the organisation. I now own the full picture: long-term platform strategy and
roadmapping, sprint and release planning, requirements management, stakeholder
communication, production support, and development infrastructure (source control,
CI/CD, issue tracking). I remain a hands-on developer and continue to contribute
to backend development directly.
\tech{C\#, .NET, MS SQL, Java, MongoDB}
\job{IMC Trading}{https://imc.nl}{Software Developer}{2008 -- 2013}
\subrole{Equity and Futures Market Making}
Joined the market-making team near its inception and contributed to greenfield
development of trading strategies and a high-performance simulation engine using
full-depth order book historical data. Later focused on real-time monitoring
tooling for live trading operations.
\tech{Java, GWT, Hibernate, MySQL, MS SQL, Matlab}
\subrole{ETF Desk --- Front Office Applications}
Built and maintained centralised components serving the ETF trading desk:
a rules-based FX hedging component with internal position matching, a real-time
risk monitor displaying key metrics, and a static data service providing
consistent instrument and pricing data to both research and trading.
\tech{Java, Swing, Hibernate, Active MQ, XML, MySQL, MS SQL}
\subrole{Algorithmic Trading Group}
Integration work on the existing trading infrastructure: connecting a third-party
market data feed, enabling cross-platform communication between trading components,
and integrating third-party systems for position keeping, order routing and market
data.
\tech{Java, JNI, C++, C}
\pagebreak
\job{Deutsche Bank}{https://db.com}{Software Developer, AVP}{2004 -- 2008}
\subrole{Arina Execution System}
Arina is Deutsche Bank's global electronic order execution platform used by
traders across all markets. I worked on server-side components (C++, Java) and
client GUIs (Java Swing, C\#), deployed across heterogeneous infrastructure
ranging from Solaris servers to Linux PCs, supporting hundreds of concurrent
users from a single location. Oracle database backend.
\subrole{Algorithmic Trading Engine}
Part of a small focused team building a new-generation algorithmic trading engine
covering market data access and exchange connectivity. The engine became the
foundation of Deutsche Bank's smart order routing system, built to comply with
MiFID regulations.
\tech{C++, TIBCO Rendezvous, FIX, Solaris, Linux}
\job{Scala/Epicor}{https://epicor.com}{Software Developer}{2002 -- 2004}
Design and development of next-generation ERP software. Core systems implemented
in C++, with .NET-based web services for client connectivity.
\tech{C++, .NET, Web Services, XML}
\job{R-Style Software Lab}{http://softlab.ru}{Software Developer}{2000 -- 2002}
Development and support of core services for a major Russian retail banking
platform---a classical three-tier application with business and application
layers, running on Windows and ported to SPARC Solaris and IBM AS/400.
\tech{C++, MFC, ATL}
