Is this actively maintained? This doesn't work at all with non-plain text emails

Hi, most emails today aren't plain text, and this doesn't really seem to work if there are HTML tags involved.

I've made my own version of this that has 10% of the features that this has but it works with HTML tags without breaking. Should I consider rewriting it as a fork and eventually PR back into here, or do you think it's better suited as a separate package (is out of scope of this project)?

This tracks it's language-equivalent upstream, but doesn't generally introduce features or bug fixes itself. I would be interested in the sorts of issues you're having with HTML emails though as that'd be a good thing to support in this package.
