Full-screen mode shows gray bar at top of screen

When I put my app in full-screen mode, there's a gray bar at the top of the screen - how do I remove this? I tried just taking out _dummyTitlebarAccessoryViewController, but then I can't control the padding for the traffic light buttons.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem?

I managed to find a workaround. Right before the app is about to go full screen, I switch the titleBarHeight to 0, and then after ~1 second, I switch it back to the height I was using before. I had to reassign the green traffic light button to my own custom method so that this change would have enough time to process before the app actually went full-screen.
