fix(services): update Elo and gamification progression for all team debate members - #787
Gamification Service Decoupling: Extracted gamification logic into services/gamification_service.go as UpdateGamificationForUser, removing circular imports and supporting multiple debate types (team_debate, user_vs_user, user_vs_bot).
Team Debate Elo & Records: Refactored ProcessTranscriptSubmissions in backend/services/transcriptservice.go to iterate over all participating members across both sides when teamDebate != nil.
History & Stats: Persisted debate rating records for each teammate in the debates collection and triggered gamification progression (scores, streaks, badges).
Team Average Elo: Added recalculateTeamEloByMembers helper to recalculate and persist the updated averageElo in the teams collection post-match.
Testing & Verification
Ran local build: go build ./... passed.
Ran service test suite: go test ./services/... -v passed all existing test suites without regressions.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Debate outcomes now award points, update daily streaks, record score changes, and unlock eligible badges.
Team debates now update each member’s rating and recalculate the team’s average rating based on its members.
Individual debate results update participant ratings and gamification progress.
Judged and conceded bot debates now also update gamification progress, with points reflecting the outcome.
The PR adds a shared gamification service and uses it in bot and judged debates. Judged debates update participant ratings and gamification. Team debates also update member rating histories and team average Elo.

Explanation
The shared UpdateGamificationForUser service and its non-team call-site updates support the progression behavior in issue #753 and preserve the existing debate flows. The team rating, history, team average, and gamification changes remain within the linked issue scope. No unrelated change is demonstrated.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue #753 requires rating updates, debate history, team averageElo, and gamification progression for every team-debate participant. The team branch iterates over the discovered members and creates per-member history records. However, it ignores member lookup errors and every rating UpdateOne error. recalculateTeamEloByMembers also returns no error, ignores member-read and team-update errors, and the caller ignores its result. A failed write can therefore leave a participant or team state unchanged while the flow continues. No targeted tests establish failure handling for these writes.
Resolution
Check and propagate every member lookup, rating update, and team average update error. Ensure the flow does not report successful progression when a participant update fails. Add automated tests for missing members, rating update failures, and team average update failures.

Line 292 holds a stray note, "Line 292 ke paas:". The surrounding logs and recover messages still say updateGamificationAfterBotDebate. After this change, updateGamificationAfterBotDebate (Line 302) and checkAndAwardAutomaticBadges (Line 475) are unused in this file. Their gamification logic now lives in two places and will drift apart. Remove the dead helpers once you've ported any behaviour you want to keep, such as the WebSocket broadcasts. Drop the stray comment and update the log text.
The recover wrapper at Line 286 and the one at Line 606 are also redundant, because UpdateGamificationForUser already recovers internally.

Use a team-average snapshot as the opponent rating, not one representative's rating.
Righto, the snapshot idea is sound. The value is the problem. oppForRating and oppAgainstRating come from forUser.Rating and againstUser.Rating. These are the ratings of memberEmails[0] on each side.
Every teammate is therefore rated against one arbitrary person on the other side. In a 3v3 debate, a lone 2500-rated first member makes a win look hard for the whole opposing team. A lone 1200-rated first member makes it look easy. The Elo change then depends on roster order. It does not depend on team strength.
Compute the pre-debate average of each loaded team before any update. Fall back to the representative rating if a list is empty.

Return the rating change after applying the floor.
If a user rated 100 loses to another user rated 100, change is −16 but newRating remains 100. The debate history then reports a loss of 16 rating points that did not occur. Calculate the returned change from newRating - userRating so history matches the stored rating. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Return member lookup errors before finalizing the debate.
If a teammate lookup fails here, the code omits that member from rating, history, and gamification. It can still insert the judgment result, which prevents a later submission from completing that member’s progression. The earlier transcript-saving lookups do not rule out a later read failure. Return the lookup error before any rating writes, mate, rather than building partial member lists. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Update the teammate lookups using findUserByIdentifier to return any lookup

Addressed the feedback to calculate member Elo updates against pre-debate team average rating snapshots (with fallbacks to representative debaters). All tests pass locally and CI checks are green .
