Project Overview

This project involves analyzing an EdTech applications dataset to discover patterns in app performance, user engagement, and market trends using Microsoft Power BI.

The aim of the project is to find out what influences app installs and who are the key players in the EdTech sector.

Dataset Overview

This dataset contains information about various EdTech mobile applications. It helps in understanding how different factors influence app installs and overall app popularity.

Columns included:

  • ID – Unique identifier for each app
  • Title – Name of the application
  • Installs – Total number of downloads/installs
  • Score – Average user rating of the app
  • Ratings – Total number of users who rated the app
  • Reviews – Number of user reviews given
  • Size – App size or marked as “Varies with device”
  • Android Version – Minimum Android version required
  • Developer – Company or individual who developed the app
  • Released Year – Year the app was launched
  • Contains Ads – Indicates whether the app includes advertisements (True/False)
  • Version – Current version of the app
  • Content Rating – Target audience category (e.g., Everyone, Teen)

  • Growth of installs over the years

Key Insights

  • Apps with higher ratings tend to achieve more installs
  • A small number of developers dominate total installs, indicating a concentrated market.
  • Apps with ads generally have higher install counts,implying ads are used to drive install numbers.
  • Apps with size listed as “Varies with device” tend to perform better than fixed-size apps.
  • Install growth peaked during certain years and then stabilized.
