MCSR RNG Practice Datapacks

This repository contains a collection of Minecraft datapacks designed to reduce the impact of Random Number Generation (RNG) during speedrun practice. These tools allow you to focus on mechanical consistency and late-game strategies without being held back by unlucky drops.

Included Datapacks

1. 30s Force Perch

This pack ensures the Ender Dragon begins its perching phase shortly after you enter The End.

  • Mechanism: Triggered by the "Entered the End" advancement.
  • Timing: Automatically schedules the perch command to run 30 seconds after arrival.
  • Effect: Forces the dragon into the perching state (DragonPhase:2).

2. 85% Blaze Rod Rates

Significantly increases the consistency of Blaze Rod drops in the Nether.

  • Effect: Each Blaze killed has a flat 85% chance to drop a Blaze Rod.

3. Boosted Piglin Bartering

Overhauls Piglin bartering tables to provide more essential resources and higher quantities of speedrun-critical items.

  • Key Drops:
    • Ender Pearls: High weight (55) with 6–8 pearls per trade.
    • Obsidian: Very high weight (135) for quick portal building.
    • String: High weight (60) with 20–24 units per trade.
    • Fire Resistance: Increased weight for both standard and splash potions.

4. Better Leaves

Improves the drop rates for apples and sticks from oak leaves to speed up the early game.

  • Apples: Boosted drop chances, especially when using tools with Fortune.
  • Sticks: Increased drop counts (1–2 per leaf block).

5. Boosted Flint Rates

Removes the frustration of gathering flint for tools or portals.

  • Effect: Significantly increases the chance of gravel dropping flint.
  • Fortune Scaling: Guaranteed flint drops at specific Fortune levels.

Installation

  1. Download the desired datapack folder.
  2. In Minecraft, navigate to your world folder.
  3. Place the folder into the datapacks directory.
  4. Type /reload in-game to activate.

Disclaimer

These datapacks are strictly for practice purposes only. Using these or any other RNG-modifying packs in a competitive environment or for official speedrun submissions is illegal under standard MCSR rules and will result in a rejected run. Use them to sharpen your skills and reduce reset-heavy practice sessions.

About

Practice-focused Minecraft datapacks that mitigate high-variance RNG via game state manipulation and custom loot tables. Built using NBT logic, scheduled functions, and JSON-based systems integration.
