feat: review and clean hidden media metadata before sharing #151

Open

Description

@CruxExperts

Summary

Please offer a guided workflow for inspecting and changing hidden metadata in photos, audio, and video before files are shared.

Problem or workflow

A shared media file may reveal location, device details, or personal attribution that the user did not intend to publish. Small businesses may also need to add or preserve correct ownership information across a group of files.

Affected area

Media preparation, privacy, and reusable file workflows.

Proposed behavior

Help users review the metadata in selected files, choose what to retain, remove, or update, and produce checked copies while preserving the originals. Support individual files and batches where appropriate, explain unsupported file types or fields, and report whether the requested changes succeeded. Let users retain or add legitimate copyright and attribution information.

For example, a small business preparing product photographs should be able to remove location details and retain its copyright notice before sharing the copies.

Make clear that this workflow concerns hidden metadata; it does not assess sensitive information visible or audible in the media itself. The maintainer can choose the supported tools and formats.
