Day 32 morning run of the content engine: the 29 Oct daily brief and a same day launch page for Gemini 4 Carbon, which Google announced on 28 Oct at 17:00 UTC (more than 860 points on Hacker News).

What changed

  • New: gemini-4-carbon (launch slot, 962 words). Who can use it (a subset of cyber defenders first, then trusted partners through Fairwind, then developers, with no date), the introductory price ($2 in, $10 out per 1M tokens, then $4 and $20), a dated Argon price table, and a Carbon vs Argon table built from Google's own figures, each one attributed. Title card plus 3 scenes (podium, ticket, scale), one tap interaction each. The Carbon launch checks started at the 01:00 launch desk check, but that session ended mid run, so the page ships in this run.
  • New: agent-tools-today-2026-10-29 (daily brief, 1,126 words). Launches: Gemini 4 Carbon, Copilot connectors, shared Copilot Automations. Skills: Impeccable, Superpowers, Expo skills. Moves: OpenCode 2.2.1, Goose 1.57.0, Qwen Code 0.26.3. Rising: Macro, BAMA, vvv. Arguments: the Claude Code status line token gist, DAYJOB: Tax, and "Here be monsters". One cork board scene; it reuses the series hero.
  • gemini-4-argon: a dated link to the new page, the current house line, and "top model on general release" in place of "newest top model".
  • media.json: two entries, inserted before gemini-4-argon, away from the seo-engine: day 30 AM, brief 27 Oct and Claude Cowork alternatives #795, seo-engine: day 30 PM, Pi vs Claude Code plus two fact refreshes #797 and seo-engine: day 31 AM, brief 28 Oct, ChatGPT Dots vs Claude Cowork and Codex vs ChatGPT #799 hunks.
  • docs/ rebuilt.

Checks

  • gate.mjs: PASS on all three changed posts (gemini-4-argon run with --no-media --no-motion --no-backlink).
  • One independent fact review: FAIL on 6 lines (Carbon), 2 (Argon) and 5 (brief); PASS on the media alt. All 13 are fixed with the reviewer's wording. The main fixes: the "without guardrails" qualifier now covers only the cyber benchmarks; Argon's access and price dates are credited to the right pages; "introductory" and "gradually" restored; publish dates added to three argument items from 26 and 27 Oct; Agent Merge got its own source link.
  • npm run build clean (425 files).
  • OpenSEO credits used: 0. The OpenSEO connection is signed out, so this run has no Search Console row and no index watch. A same day vendor launch needs no demand check, and page 3 was skipped because it would need one.

Before

Page Before (main, built)
/blog/agent-tools-today-2026-10-29/ before
/blog/gemini-4-carbon/ before
/blog/gemini-4-argon/ before

After

Page After (built locally)
/blog/agent-tools-today-2026-10-29/ after
/blog/gemini-4-carbon/ after
/blog/gemini-4-argon/ after

The two new pages show a 404 in the before shots because they do not exist on main yet.

Open engine PRs: #795, #797, #799 and this one. All rebuild docs/, so the ones merged later may need a rebase. I will rebase them as they come up. The founder merges. Carbon is a same day launch, so merging this one first gets it live soonest.

Says Munder Difflin does not offer Carbon, that Google published no
Carbon model ID on 29 Oct 2026, and that nobody outside the early
groups can use it; adds the models page source and a model ID row.
