Jean Balin — Senior Platform / DevOps engineer (7+ yrs) who turns ambiguous, high-complexity environments into standardized, self-service platforms.
Cloud-native infra across banking, automotive & legal-tech, hands-on Python backend + AI / LLMOps, and the occasional Rust tool when a job deserves one.

🧭 What I do

  • Platform / DevOps — CI/CD (Jenkins · GitHub Actions · GitLab CI), GitOps (Argo CD), release governance, source-control migrations
  • Cloud & IaC — AWS (EKS, IAM, Secrets Manager) · GCP · Azure · Terraform (+ Enterprise) · Ansible · Kubernetes · Docker
  • Python & backend — FastAPI services, automation, RAG/AI backends over pgvector / Qdrant
  • AI / LLMOps — multi-provider orchestration (Anthropic Claude · OpenAI · Ollama), agents & RAG with deterministic fallbacks
  • Observability & security — Prometheus · Grafana · ELK · Loki · HashiCorp Vault · least-privilege guardrails

🚀 Building — AuraPass

Co-founder & lead engineer of an AI-native loyalty SaaS (Apple & Google Wallet, no app download) — zero to production in 4 months as a 2-person team. Python/Node backend with a multi-provider AI layer (Claude · OpenAI · Ollama) and deterministic fallbacks for production.

⚓ Open source — hawser · my Rust deep-dive

Every DevOps role I've had involved wrangling many git repos — GitLab↔GitHub migrations, reproducible baselines in embedded automotive (AUTOSAR), source-control governance. So I built the tool I kept wishing for, in Rust: a committed lockfile pins every repo to an exact SHA, one command branches a feature across N repos and opens the linked PRs/MRs on GitHub and GitLab, and a k9s-style TUI drives the fleet — with SBOM + signed releases for regulated teams.
