Basics of SSH and SCP

For a helpful basic tutorial on logging in via SSH see Linux Academy. They also go over scp, the most straightforward tool for file transfer. Other options include rsync and the nice GUI FileZilla.

For larger files, please note that another server has been set up to offload rsync, scp, rm, zip, gzip on the farm head node. You reach this server by connecting to port 2022 on farm.
