Keep the TypeScript package name backed by the TypeScript 6 compatibility package so tooling such as typescript-eslint can continue to import the compiler API, while adding TypeScript 7 under the @typescript/native alias for the tsc entrypoint. Closing this for now without merging. TypeScript 7.0 is available as a CLI/compiler, but it does not currently expose the compiler API that parts of our toolchain rely on, including typescript-eslint and ncc. The side-by-side TS6/TS7 workaround can make dependency installation pass, but dist/ would still be built through TypeScript 6, so merging this would not give the action's bundled output the intended TypeScript 7 benefit.\n\nWe should wait until the TypeScript 7 compiler API and dependent tooling support land, then revisit the upgrade. |
