I make engineering orgs perform before I scale them. I build the platform, data, and AI systems underneath B2B products, and the teams that own them end to end.
Twenty years building backend and platform systems, the last decade leading the orgs around them. I started in fintech: real-time, low-latency trading where a millisecond mattered and a bad deploy moved money. Two decades later I took session-replay infrastructure from 250k to 50M+ sessions a day through two acquisitions at Clicktale and Contentsquare. Now I run a 40-person platform org across five countries at Evinced, where I stood up GenAI, ML, Data Infra, and DevOps from zero.
I care about ownership, reliability, and judgment. Very little about theater.
| 20+ years building systems | 40+ engineers across 7 teams |
| 50M sessions a day at peak | 85% cut in anomaly false positives |
- Event-driven platforms - streaming at scale, from sub-ms trading engines to
50M+events/day and100+ TB/month.KafkaSparkFlink - Cloud & infrastructure - multi-cloud, on-prem→AWS and AWS↔GCP migrations,
GKE Autopilot+ GitOps.AWSGCPKubernetesArgo CD - Applied GenAI - production, not demos.
MCP-integrated agents for CI/CD triage, docs, and code review; multi-LLM workflows.RAGAgents - Trust & compliance -
FedRAMPreadiness in six months, which unblocked a$10Mgov pipeline.SOC2 - FinOps & efficiency - six figures of annual spend cut, velocity untouched
- Org & leadership - distributed squads across continents, sub-10% attrition through hypergrowth
- Trust first, verify by judgment - room early; I step in when ownership goes fuzzy, not before
- Bad news early - broken is manageable, hidden is a trust problem
- Argue, then execute - disagree hard before the call, ship as one after
- A high bar, zero jerks - I'll leave a role open before I lower the bar
- Decide at 80% - timebox the exploration, make the call
- Shield the team - authority to kill friction, not to show rank
The 21 Stark AI ecosystem is my lab for multi-agent code review, infra-as-code, and AI DevEx. Claude + Codex + Gemini dispatched in parallel, because three different blind spots rarely line up on the same miss. Playground tier: ships to main, no SLAs. That's the point.
- Don't bet your review on one model - three blind spots rarely line up on the same miss
- Let the bot be the bad cop - I built a bot to do the nagging, and stopped being the villain of my own team
- Measure your AI tools, don't argue about them - everyone has a loud opinion, almost nobody has the data
- Fix the org before you scale it - the first move is almost never to hire
Founder or engineering leader building hard infrastructure, data platforms, or applied AI? I'm up for a good conversation. hi@21stark.com
