Users can now block or unblock Reddit accounts from Beeper DMs. The bridge polls Reddit’s block list on connect and approximately once per minute, updates DM block state, and reconciles unblocks missed while offline. Blocking requires a saved Reddit session and applies across Reddit; it does not leave shared groups or report spam.

The change adds cookie-authenticated Reddit GraphQL operations and regression tests for request format, failures, account isolation, and stale queued state. It also updates mautrix and related dependencies for the user-blocking APIs and avoids caching CSRF tokens during concurrent session use.

Validation:

  • go test -race ./...
  • Repository pre-commit checks, including goimports, go vet, staticcheck, and go mod tidy
  • ./build.sh

Related to PLAT-39271.

Issues

All clear! No issues remaining. 🎉

1 issue already resolved
  • blockMu is held across Reddit HTTP calls (up to 15s) in block/unblock and the minute-ly refresh. userBlocked, called for every DM in sync and portal loops, takes the same mutex, so slow Reddit responses stall chat sync. (fixed by commit 5db69e0)

PLAT-39271

Serialize block-list network calls with a separate mutex so chat info
lookups on the sync path never wait on Reddit.
