feat(backup): add episode identity to library backups - #1188
JSON library backups (version 7) now carry each episode's identity, so a restore keeps played, liked and downloaded state attached to the right episodes, and OPML exports give other apps the publisher's own feed address.
Motivation
Since episodes got stable recipe IDs and aliases (P4), a backup restored only history rows: the aliases, shared like and completion settings, and renumbered-show records were lost, so a restored phone had to rediscover them, and some listening could stay unlinked.
OPML exports fell back to a boxlore /episodes?id= address that isn't a feed.
What changed
Backup v7 (:core:catalogbackup.LibraryBackupIdentity). A new optional episodeIdentity block: every episode_aliases row (state, owner, key, recipe ID, provenance), every episode_group_state row, and boxlore_renumbered_shows. Read through new DAO queries EpisodeIdentityDao.allAliases / allGroupStates (no schema change).
Restore rules. Runs before the history, in one transaction, and only adds: an alias the phone has is kept; one whose ID the phone holds for another episode (another show or key, as an alias or a catalog row) is refused and its history row skipped; unresolved and ambiguous aliases keep their state; restored aliases start as non-owners and the backup's owner mark applies only where the phone has no owner; group settings merge by the latest decision; renumberings the phone records are never reversed. Restored history keeps its likedAt.
OPML (backup.LibraryBackupOpml). Each show gets its saved publisher address; a show without one is left out. Never a transport address, /v2/feed/ or /episodes?id=.
Docs: core/catalog and core/database READMEs; ProGuard keeps the new backup classes.
Behavior & compatibility
Version 6 and older backups import exactly as before. Version 7 adds only optional fields. No Room schema change.

Added
JSON library backup version 7 carries episode identity (episodeIdentity: aliases, group settings, renumbered shows) and restores it without overwriting another episode; OPML exports use each show's publisher feed address only.

Improvements
Restoring a library backup now keeps your played and liked episodes attached to the right episodes, and exported OPML files point other apps to each show's own feed.
Test plan
LibraryBackupIdentityLogicTest (rules) and LibraryBackupIdentityRoomTest (Robolectric Room: v7 round trip, unresolved records survive, v6 import untouched, a refused alias keeps both episodes, no second owner, OPML addresses).
:core:catalog, :core:database, :app unit tests, detekt and ktlint pass locally.
Export and restore on the maintainer's phone after merge.

New Features
Version 7 library backups now preserve episode identities, aliases, group settings, and show renumberings. Versions 6 and earlier remain supported.
Restores merge identity data while protecting existing episode matches and ownership; history rows linked to refused identity conflicts are skipped.
OPML exports use valid publisher feed addresses and omit subscriptions without one.
Documentation
Updated backup and compatibility documentation to describe the identity data and OPML export behavior.
Version 7 JSON library backups now include episode aliases, group settings, and show-renumbering mappings. Restore validates and merges identity data before history. OPML export selects eligible publisher feed URLs and omits subscriptions without one.

The JSON format advances to version 7 and adds optional identity data for aliases, group states, and renumberings. The DAO exposes ordered alias and group-state reads. Shared dependencies expose renumbered-show storage.
Identity validation and restore rules core/catalog/src/main/java/cx/aswin/boxlore/core/catalog/backup/LibraryBackupIdentity.kt, core/catalog/src/test/java/cx/aswin/boxlore/core/catalog/backup/LibraryBackupIdentityLogicTest.kt
Identity rows are validated before restore. Alias conflicts are kept or refused under the stated rules. Group settings merge by decision timestamps. Renumberings are checked against existing mappings. Restore writes aliases and group states in one transaction.
The manager exports and restores identity data before history. It skips history rows for refused episode IDs. OPML export omits subscriptions without an eligible publisher URL. Logic and Room tests cover identity restoration, compatibility, history, and OPML behavior.

Merge Risk: Low · previous review e871d
A rare long chain of show renumberings could become cyclic during restore, and the documented refusal rules omit one case. Merge with owner awareness of the cycle risk, or fix it first.

Full details: Architecture Compliance
Explanation
No architecture violation is introduced. The PR changes only :app, :core:catalog, and :core:database. Added production imports follow the documented catalog → database/rss/model direction; no feature-to-feature, designsystem, playback, or PostHog import was added. No Hilt, Koin, Dagger, or MockK usage was added. AppContainer still has one PlaybackRepository and remains the composition root. Room entities, database version, tables, and migrations are unchanged; the new backup fields are optional and preserve older JSON compatibility.
Full details: Module Readme Updated
Explanation
All changed production Kotlin modules have matching README changes. The PR changes app/src/main/.../AppContainer.kt and modifies app/README.md. It changes production Kotlin in core/catalog and core/database, and modifies core/catalog/README.md and core/database/README.md. Prior failure addressed: The prior app README gap is resolved: this PR modifies app/README.md alongside AppContainer.kt, adding documentation for the backup wiring.
Full details: Jvm Tests For Changed Logic
Explanation
The PR adds substantial backup identity, restore, renumbering, OPML, and DAO logic, and it adds JVM tests under src/test. LibraryBackupIdentityLogicTest covers conversion, invalid/null data, conflict decisions, history/catalog clashes, group merges, renumbering cycles, and OPML filtering. LibraryBackupIdentityRoomTest covers v7 round trips, v6 compatibility, unresolved/null rows, refused IDs, ownership, history preservation, and OPML output. EpisodeIdentityDaoTest covers the new ordered DAO queries.
Full details: Unresolved Review Threads
Explanation
One current CodeRabbit finding remains outstanding. The new Minor finding requires the README to document refusal when a listening-history row holds the alias ID and to update the related test note. The four earlier posted threads are marked discussion=resolved, but the current finding has no resolved or dismissed status.
Resolution
Update core/catalog/README.md with the listening-history refusal rule and the related test note. Then mark the current finding resolved, or explicitly dismiss it with a short rationale.
Full details: Docstring Coverage
Explanation
Docstring coverage is 59.09% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 22 functions across 13 files. (3 skipped: 3 unsupported.)
Resolution
Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.
