Summary

  • Adds Library settings › Storage › Clear saved shows (own-IDs P4 PR 20, decision D10): one tap, after a confirmation, removes the saved episode lists of shows the listener opened but doesn't follow.

Motivation

  • Opening a show you don't follow saves its episode list so the page opens instantly next time. Those copies already clear themselves after 30 days unopened or past a size cap; this gives listeners a way to free that space now.

What changed

  • :core:domain / :core:rss. ShowPageFeedPort.unfollowedCount and clearUnfollowed (defaults for other implementations); ShowPageFeedCatalog counts and clears every unfollowed copy through the same checked delete as the automatic cleanup, so only local_episodes and local_episode_feeds rows go, a show followed meanwhile keeps its copy, and history, downloads, the queue and aliases stay.
  • :feature:settings. A Storage group with the row ("Episode lists of 12 shows you don’t follow", or "Nothing saved…", which opens nothing) and ClearSavedShowsDialog. The row counts again after clearing. Analytics saved_shows_cleared.
  • :app. Wires SavedShowsControl to localEpisodeCatalogRepository.showPages.
  • READMEs of :feature:settings and :core:rss.

Behavior & compatibility

  • New control only; the automatic cleanup is unchanged. No schema change.

Added

  • Library settings › Storage › Clear saved shows removes every unfollowed show's saved episode list after a confirmation (ShowPageFeedPort.clearUnfollowed); history, downloads, the queue and followed shows stay.

README What's New / Upcoming (required for user-impact changes)

Improvements

  • Free up space with Clear saved shows in Library settings: it removes the episode lists saved for shows you opened but don't follow.

Test plan

  • ShowPageFeedCatalogTest.clearingSavedShowsRemovesEveryUnfollowedCopyWhateverItsAgeAndKeepsListenerState (Room): both unfollowed copies go though opened just now, a followed show's stays, history, download and queue rows stay.
  • ClearSavedShowsAdaptiveTest (Robolectric Compose): confirm clears once and the row reads the new count; cancel clears nothing; an open confirmation survives 599/600 dp, 1280×800 split, the 479 dp short gate and back to phone, and recreation, then still clears once.
  • :core:rss, :feature:settings, :app unit tests, detekt and ktlint on touched files pass locally (known older ktlint findings in EpisodeSupplementTipLogicTest and ShowSwitchRoomTest untouched).
  • Install on the maintainer's phone after merge and run the manual path in feature/settings/README.md.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added Clear saved shows under Library → Storage, with a count of saved copies for shows you no longer follow.
    • Review the confirmation before clearing. Followed shows, listening history, downloads, and the queue are kept; cleared copies reload when you open a show again.
    • The count updates after clearing, and the confirmation remains available when the screen is resized or restored.

The Library settings page now counts and clears saved catalog copies for unfollowed shows. Clearing uses checked deletion under per-show locks, retains copies for followed shows and listener state, and reports the cleared count through analytics. Tests cover confirmation, cancellation, adaptive layouts, and state restoration.

Changes: Saved shows

Layer / File(s) Summary
Catalog count and checked deletion
core/domain/.../ShowPageFeedPort.kt, core/rss/.../ShowPageFeedCatalog.kt, core/rss/src/test/.../ShowPageFeedCatalogTest.kt, core/rss/README.md
The feed port and catalog add operations to count and clear unfollowed copies. The catalog locks each show and uses deletion that rechecks follow status. Tests and documentation cover retained followed copies and listener state.
Library settings control and confirmation
feature/settings/.../LibrarySettingsPage.kt, feature/settings/.../ClearSavedShowsDialog.kt, feature/settings/.../SettingsScreen.kt, app/.../NavGraphSettingsDestinations.kt, feature/settings/src/test/.../ClearSavedShowsAdaptiveTest.kt, feature/settings/README.md
The Storage setting displays the saved-copy count and opens a confirmation when the count is positive. Confirming clears the copies and refreshes the count; the callback tracks the cleared count. Tests cover confirmation, cancellation, window layouts, and state restoration.

Possibly related PRs

  • boxcreate/boxlore#1186: Changes follow state across old and new show IDs, which intersects with this PR’s handling of copies whose follow state changes.
  • boxcreate/boxlore#1177: Adds persistent episode aliases that this PR’s deletion behavior preserves.
  • boxcreate/boxlore#1175: Adds feed-first state and alias storage used by the catalog cleanup behavior.
Merge Risk: Moderate · previous review 3a69f

The "Clear saved shows" control will not remove saved episode lists for shows unfollowed recently, so it can appear to succeed while leaving data behind. Fix the TTL gap before merging. The confirmation count after state restoration and the missing module README updates are smaller follow-ups.

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title follows Conventional Commits with the allowed type 'feat' and scope '(settings)'. It uses imperative mood ('add') and is 50 characters, under the roughly 72-character limit. It accurately names the main change: a control to clear saved shows in Library settings.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description is directly related to the changeset. It explains the new Library settings › Storage › Clear saved shows control, the motivation (freeing space from saved episode lists of unfollowed shows), the per-module changes in :core:domain, :core:rss, :feature:settings, and :app, compatibility notes, and a test plan that matches the added tests.

Full details: Architecture Compliance

Explanation

No architecture violation is introduced. feature/settings only adds same-feature imports and uses the existing core:designsystem and core:analytics APIs. The app wiring passes the existing AppContainer show-page port; it does not create a second graph or PlaybackRepository. The changed catalog code imports only database, domain, model, and coroutine types, with no designsystem or playback dependency. No PostHog, Hilt, Koin, Dagger, or MockK usage is added. No identity, Room schema, migration, or storage-contract file changes are present.

Full details: Jvm Tests For Changed Logic

Explanation

The PR adds hermetic JVM tests under src/test for the changed logic. ShowPageFeedCatalogTest uses an in-memory Room database and Robolectric to verify counting, clearing all unfollowed copies, retaining followed shows and listener state, and the empty subsequent clear. ClearSavedShowsAdaptiveTest uses Robolectric Compose to verify confirmation, cancellation, the refreshed empty state, and state retention across window changes and recreation. No distinct error branch was added that requires an error-case test.

Full details: Unresolved Review Threads

Explanation

Four newly generated CodeRabbit findings remain outstanding. They have no resolved or dismissed state: two Major README findings, one Minor recreation-count finding, and one Major active-TTL clearing finding. The separate posted-threads section reports no returned threads, but these current findings still remain unresolved under this check.

Resolution

Address each finding, then mark it resolved or explicitly dismiss it with a short rationale before merge: update core/domain/README.md and app/README.md, preserve the confirmation count across recreation, and include active-TTL copies in manual clearing while rechecking followed state.

Full details: Module Readme Updated

Explanation

The PR changes production Kotlin in app/src/main/ and core/domain/src/main/, but it does not modify app/README.md or core/domain/README.md. It does modify the matching READMEs for feature/settings and core/rss.

Resolution

Modify app/README.md and core/domain/README.md in this PR. Document the production changes according to docs/MODULE_README_TEMPLATE.md.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 75.00% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 4 functions across 8 files. (2 skipped: 2 unsupported.)

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.
