Tokyo Drift

A drifting game inspired by Japanese car culture

Why

I made this after coming for tokyo, where i saw so many cool cars, and wanted to make a game about them and given that drifting originated in japan, so I wanted to create a game centered around drifting mechanics
Also, before this I wanted to make a drifting game to see how I could make smooth drifting physics and how cars actually work. The drifting physics took a lot of iterations to make it feel right and to make it behave how a actual car would, I tried to have the car properties similar to their real like counterparts

Controls

  • WASD - Move
  • Space - Brake
  • R - Reload Level
  • K - Quit Game

whats next

  • will add a neon city like Tokyo
  • more advance sroring system like additional point on the bases of how much closer you were to a collidable object, this will pair nicely with the current scoring system thats based on the tilt of the car with its forward vector but have to make the neon map first
  • add more playable cars with different properties like torque curve, transmission etc
