Participants can now open this tutorial with the same devcontainer in Codespaces, DevPod + Docker, or VS Code Dev Containers. Setup supplies Node 22 and refreshes the latest AQE, Claude Code CLI, Codex CLI, and GitHub CLI, then installs the locked app dependencies. README/LAB manual setup now also uses latest AQE and Node 22.13+.
Preparation is an explicit action: it backs up the tutorial's SQLite data before indexing/seeding, verifies all 21 source files and all six embedded seed patterns, and skips repeat writes after success. Setup refuses another repository or linked AQE data and preserves existing memory and environment files. The subject application's deliberate quality gaps are retained.
Validation on Apple Silicon/Linux arm64: actual Dev Container CLI and DevPod Docker startup, 333 tests across 12 files, coverage (61.62% overall; payment retry 100% statements / 97.29% branches), TypeScript, production build, and catalog/cart/order validation smoke checks passed. A repeated setup left the test DB SHA-256 unchanged. Focused adversarial lifecycle tests cover wrong repository, memory/env symlinks, partial setup, dependency failure, verification failure, retry, and repeated preparation. CI repeats build/setup/tests on Linux amd64.
Final Linux amd64 CI passed on commit
b58620d61328c94e8d64c7b5bd99e73e1131667c: Workshop devcontainer run. Both Socket Security checks also passed. CI now uses current checkout v7.0.1, disables persisted checkout credentials, and restores runner ownership after Docker.Acceptance limits: AQE 3.14.8 MCP handshake exposes 91 tools, but tested memory queries return zero tutorial entries despite 76 stored patterns and six verified seed embeddings. Docs and the MCP check explicitly distinguish transport readiness from Exercise 5 recall; use LAB.md's reports fallback if recall fails. Actual Codespaces creation and paid agent exercises were not executed (available token lacks Codespaces scope). Stripe payment execution needs participants' test keys.
@fndlalit — please review and merge after CI and a browser Codespace launch from this branch.
docs/SLIDE-UPDATES-FOR-LALIT.mdcontains exact slide-numbered wording changes for setup, Node/latest AQE, graph counters, hosting/privacy, fleet-count claims, and the memory fallback. The linked presentation itself has not been edited.Full participant instructions:
