Walkthrough
The activity runner now coordinates persisted batch actions for node-tree invalidation and retries them after activity removal. ConsumerService handles shared-modification updates per node, skips empty modification lists, and emits notifications for nonempty lists.
Adds the batch_node_action entity, action type, repository, and Liquibase changeset. The test configuration supplies a repository mock.
Conflict handling and batch replay src/main/java/org/gridsuite/study/server/error/StudyException.java, src/main/java/org/gridsuite/study/server/nodeactivity/*, src/main/java/org/gridsuite/study/server/repository/nodeactivity/NodeActivityRepository.java, src/test/java/org/gridsuite/study/server/nodeactivity/BatchActionServiceTest.java, src/test/java/org/gridsuite/study/server/NetworkModificationTreeTest.java
The activity runner exposes activity add and remove operations and invokes the batch runner after activity removal. The batch runner executes pending actions and saves an action when a node-activity conflict occurs. Tests cover execution, deferral, and cleanup.
ConsumerService uses the runner service for activity cleanup and handles shared modifications per node. It skips empty modification lists, requests invalidation for non-metadata updates, and emits notifications for nonempty lists. StudyService’s notification method and its test are removed.

Add the batch_node_action table to the Liquibase migration.
When a shared-modification update conflicts with an existing node activity, runInvalidateNodeTreeBatch(..., true) saves a deferred BatchActionEntity. The entity maps to batch_node_action, but the migration creates only node_activity.batch. The first deferred-action save can therefore fail when JPA flushes the insert.
EDIT_MODIFICATIONS is synchronous. Its cleanup also calls batchActionRepository.findAll(), so ordinary runner completion can fail while querying the same missing table.

Do not let the latest blocked batch prevent other retries.
If the latest batch still conflicts but an older batch can run, this selection tries only the latest batch. runInvalidateNodeTreeBatch() returns false, and the older batch is not examined. The older node can remain invalid without another activity removal to trigger a retry. Try eligible pending batches independently, and retain only those that still conflict.

Keep replay failures out of the completed action’s cleanup path.
If a stored batch refers to a node that has since been deleted, addNodeActivities throws NOT_FOUND during replay. runMostRecentBatch() propagates that error from removeActivities(), including when runWith() is cleaning up an otherwise successful action. Treat replay failures separately from the action result, and remove or quarantine obsolete batches so they do not fail later cleanups. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Record build completion before replaying pending invalidation.
If a shared-modification update queues invalidation during a build, this removal can replay the invalidation before studyService.handleBuildSuccess runs at Line 155. handleBuildSuccess then writes the completed build status after the node tree was invalidated. The node can appear built despite the intervening modification update. Finish processing the build result before triggering pending invalidation. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

A failing batch replay breaks unrelated callers of removeActivities.
runLastAction selects the newest pending batch across all studies and nodes. It deletes the batch row before it runs the action. runAction saves the row back only for a NODE_ACTIVITY_CONFLICT. Any other exception propagates out of removeActivities.
This has two consequences:
The caller that only wanted to remove its own activity fails. For example, ConsumerService.handleBuildResult skips studyService.handleBuildSuccess. consumeCalculationResult skips quota release and notifications. runWith can hide the original action exception, because it calls removeActivities in finally.
The deleted batch is lost, because only conflicts re-save it.
Isolate the replay failure from the caller. Decide whether a failed replay must be re-saved or only logged.

Drain successful actions without recursive replay.
When this action succeeds, synchronous EDIT_MODIFICATIONS cleanup calls removeActivities, which starts another runPendingActions before this call returns. A backlog of successful actions therefore creates one nested call per action and repeatedly scans pending rows. A large backlog can exhaust the stack before replay completes. Keep replay in one iterative drain and prevent cleanup from starting a nested drain. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Check other pending actions when the newest action conflicts.
If node A has an older pending action and node B has a newer pending action, removing A’s activity selects B’s action. If B remains busy, runAction saves B’s action again and returns. A’s ready action remains pending until another activity removal happens, which might never occur. Select an eligible action or continue past conflicting actions so an unrelated busy node cannot prevent A’s invalidation. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Keep failed invalidations recoverable and do not skip the notification for the node.
In handleSharedModificationsUpdate, runBatchAction(INVALIDATE_NODE_TREE) runs before emitSharedModificationsUpdated. When a non-conflict error occurs, the exception skips the notification for that node. The per-node catch in handleSharedElementUpdate logs the error and continues. The failed action is not saved, so nothing retries it later.
The pre-PR code also dropped a failed per-node notification with only a log entry, so that loss is not new. The new gap is that the invalidation step can now suppress the notification for the same node. The fix needs a design decision. Either persist non-conflict failed actions for retry, or emit the notification even when invalidation fails. The inspected code does not show which option is safe, so this comment does not propose a patch.
