docs(secret-types): sync the #32 pointer to its closure and the standalone proofs - #44
epistemic-types#32 was closed on 2026-10-05T06:37Z by the owner as delivered here — "No transfer of this issue occurred or is required, and none should be attempted" — and #39 opened as the successor guard one minute later. Seven surfaces in this repository still asserted that #32 stays open and must not be closed, including 0-AI-MANIFEST.a2ml and STATE.a2ml, which agents read first. That instruction is now actively wrong.
Separately, the standalone repository is no longer specification-only: at secret-typesmainccdcb3e (2026-10-19) its proof gate is green and TINI is proved both at the two-point lattice and over an arbitrary Lattice record.
What changed
Pointer (guards against exactly the drift #39 exists for)
docs/secret-types.adoc: new Status update — 2026-10-25 section; the boundary bullets, the transition-review bullets and the Decision offered paragraph are corrected with dated supersession wording ("recorded 2026-10-04, superseded 2026-10-05").
README.adoc, docs/README.adoc: #32 closed, no transfer, #39 is the guard.
STATE.a2ml, META.a2ml (ADR-007), 0-AI-MANIFEST.a2ml: the agent-facing rule now says closed — do not reopen, transfer, or duplicate; #39 for pointer updates.
CHANGELOG.adoc: dated entry.
Current standalone state (D153/D154)
secret-typesmainccdcb3ec42792337a9ab6047e1f99de9d20a4f96, proof gate green in run 39305922644.
The fragment has no declassification, so D154's "declassify only at explicit audited points" is not yet implemented. Recorded explicitly rather than smoothed over.
D153 registration: the family row landed in nextgen-typingdocs/TYPE-CONNECTIONS.adoc on 2026-10-05 and #118 is closed. That map's explanatory note still claims no noninterference theorem exists; valence-shell's THEORY-FEED.adoc remains stale under #210 with #92 unselected. Both are recorded here as owned elsewhere, not edited here.
Verification
No Agda source touched; the proof gates are unaffected.
Structural checks: balanced ----/====/|=== delimiters, every <<anchor>> resolves, every relative link: target exists.
.a2ml files parse as valid structured data (STATE.a2ml, META.a2ml, 0-AI-MANIFEST.a2ml).
AsciiDoc render: not verified. asciidoctor is absent in the sandbox, and the governance Code quality + docs job does not render AsciiDoc (it checks documentation presence and launcher-standard currency), so no gate covers this. Structural checks (anchors, delimiters, link targets) are what was run.
Everything claimed about #32, #39, #118 and secret-types was read back from the GitHub API in this session; where a claim could not be checked (occupancy-types ULTRAPLAN path) it is omitted.
Not done here
Reconciling secret-types' own "specification only" status text and its review checklist with the proofs above, closing or reshaping secret-types#2, and the declassification work itself all belong to that repository. nextgen-typing and valence-shell corrections belong to theirs.
…alone proofs
Issue #32 was closed on 2026-10-05T06:37Z as delivered here, with no
transfer ("no transfer of this issue occurred or is required, and none
should be attempted"), and #39 opened as the successor guard. Seven
surfaces still asserted that #32 stays open and must not be closed,
including the machine-readable instructions an agent reads first.
Correct the current-state claims and keep the 2026-10-05 record as
history with dated supersession notes, per #39 item 1:
- docs/secret-types.adoc: new "Status update - 2026-10-25" section;
boundary, transition-review and decision paragraphs corrected.
- docs/secret-types-transition-review-2026-10-05.adoc: historical
header note, dated markers, new status section; the prepared update
is recorded as never posted (the owner posted a different comment).
- README.adoc, docs/README.adoc, STATE.a2ml, META.a2ml (ADR-007),
0-AI-MANIFEST.a2ml: #32 closed, do not reopen/transfer/duplicate,
#39 is the guard.
- CHANGELOG.adoc: dated entry.
Record the standalone repository's state (#39 item 3) at secret-types
main ccdcb3e (2026-10-19, proof gate green in run 39305922644): N-1,
N-2, N-3 and N-7 PROVEN, N-4/N-5/N-6 TESTED, N-8 PROVEN; no
declassification in the fragment, so D154's audited declassification
is not yet implemented. D153's family row landed in nextgen-typing on
2026-10-05 (#118 closed); that map's note still claims no
noninterference theorem exists, and valence-shell's feed text remains
stale. Those belong to their own repositories.
No Agda source changed.
Refs #39
Co-authored-by: arena-agent <297053741+arena-agent@users.noreply.github.com>
Updated project documentation to reflect the closure of issue #32, its delivery status and successor tracking.
Recorded the standalone repository’s non-interference proof status and clarified that declassification remains unimplemented.
Revised status and transition-history notes to distinguish completed work from outstanding documentation and checklist updates.
Updated the changelog, README and related guidance to reflect these project-status changes.
The documentation and machine-readable records now state that issue #32 closed as delivered without transfer, and identify #39 as its successor guard. They record the standalone repository’s proof status and remaining work. No Agda source changed.
Changes: Secret-types status and boundary records
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Transition review history docs/secret-types-transition-review-2026-10-05.adoc
The review now records the closure of #32, the opening of #39, and the later status update. It retains the original prerequisites and proposed update as historical information.
Boundary status and pointers docs/secret-types.adoc, docs/README.adoc, README.adoc
The boundary record and repository pointers report the closure of #32, the role of #39, the standalone repository’s proof status, and remaining work. They state that this repository has no Secret or IFC implementation or theorem.
Machine-readable policy and status record .machine_readable/descriptiles/META.a2ml, .machine_readable/descriptiles/STATE.a2ml, 0-AI-MANIFEST.a2ml, CHANGELOG.adoc
Machine-readable records and the changelog align with the closure and successor guard. The changelog records standalone proof and test statuses, downstream status, and that no Agda source changed.
The update is broadly mergeable, but correcting the assurance labels and exact revision pointers will prevent misleading documentation and agent guidance.

Explanation
The title names the docs scope (secret-types) and the #32 pointer sync to its closure and the standalone proofs. The changeset updates docs and agent metadata to record #32 as closed on 2026-10-05, the successor guard #39, and the standalone secret-types proof status. The title is specific and matches the main change. It omits the successor guard and the no-declassification caveat, which is acceptable.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue #39 item 1 is addressed. docs/secret-types.adoc records the closed #32 status, the exact secret-types revision ccdcb3ec42792337a9ab6047e1f99de9d20a4f96, and the #39 successor guard. The supplied change summary reports matching updates in STATE.a2ml, META.a2ml, and 0-AI-MANIFEST.a2ml. The 2026-10-05 transition review remains as history and includes a dated supersession note. Item 3 is addressed by recording the nextgen-typing, valence-shell, and secret-types#2 follow-up ownership without editing those repositories. Item 2 remains satisfied: the inspected boundary note and manifest state that this repository adds no Secret type, IFC calculus, declassification rule, or noninterference theorem.

The render-gate request is not supported as a review finding.
The link target exists, and no failed render, unresolved anchor, or skipped required workflow is shown. A request to confirm a required check, without a demonstrated failure, is a validation reminder rather than an actionable defect.

Do not treat Governance as an AsciiDoc render gate.
The Code quality + docs job checks documentation presence and launcher-standard currency. It does not render AsciiDoc files. A passing job therefore cannot confirm the missing local render.
…status split
- Use the full secret-types revision
ccdcb3ec42792337a9ab6047e1f99de9d20a4f96 in STATE.a2ml, META.a2ml and
0-AI-MANIFEST.a2ml rather than the ambiguous ccdcb3e prefix.
- docs/secret-types.adoc: split the laws-census bullet — N-6 (census) is
TESTED, N-8 (each law necessary, countermodels) is PROVEN. The previous
wording marked N-6 as both, overstating the assurance level.
- docs/secret-types-transition-review-2026-10-05.adoc: state the reported
split exactly (N-1, N-2, N-3, N-7, N-8 PROVEN; N-4, N-5, N-6 TESTED) and
say explicitly that D154's audited-declassification requirement is not
implemented.

@coderabbitai review — the three findings are addressed in c4a7f6a: full revision hash in all three .a2ml pointers; N-6 split from N-8 in docs/secret-types.adoc (N-6 TESTED, N-8 PROVEN); and the transition review now states the exact split (N-1, N-2, N-3, N-7, N-8 PROVEN; N-4, N-5, N-6 TESTED) with D154's audited declassification explicitly marked unimplemented. Please re-review.
@hyperpolymath I checked c4a7f6a and confirmed all three corrections:
All three .a2ml pointers use ccdcb3ec42792337a9ab6047e1f99de9d20a4f96.
docs/secret-types.adoc separates N-6 TESTED from N-8 PROVEN.
The transition review states the exact PROVEN/TESTED split and explicitly marks D154’s audited-declassification requirement as unimplemented.
I found no remaining issue in these corrections. The proof checks pass. The returned checks do not show the governance Code quality + docs render gate; confirm that it passes before merge.
The CodeRabbit check reports “Review rate limited”. I am requesting the re-review, but its completion is not yet confirmed.

Learning: For hyperpolymath/epistemic-types PR #41, the author permits review comments but prohibits CI fixes, autofix, automated pushes, edits to `.github/workflows/` or `actions.lock`, and “fix CI” suggestions. The author reports that the red governance and scan checks also fail on main and are unrelated to this documentation-only PR. PR #42 handles the standards-lock failure separately, using records copied from the called repository's lock rather than inferred records.

⚠️ Action not completed
Review rate limited.
Note: CodeRabbit is an incremental review system and does not re-review already reviewed commits. This command is applicable only when automatic reviews are paused.
All three findings were addressed in c4a7f6a and verified: (1) the full revision ccdcb3ec42792337a9ab6047e1f99de9d20a4f96 is now used in STATE.a2ml, META.a2ml and 0-AI-MANIFEST.a2ml; (2) docs/secret-types.adoc splits N-6 (TESTED) from N-8 (PROVEN, countermodels); (3) the transition review states the exact split and marks D154's audited declassification explicitly unimplemented.
Status: ready on content, blocked by repo-level CI access — and by missing issue-write permission
1. The change is complete
Eight files, two commits, no Agda source touched. Proof Safety, Canonical Echo, analyze (actions, none), CodeQL, semgrep and GitGuardian are green. CodeRabbit's three findings were fixed in c4a7f6a (full revision hash; N-6 split from N-8; exact status split with D154's declassification explicitly marked unimplemented) and its stale review was dismissed with that rationale.
I also corrected this PR's description: AsciiDoc rendering was not verified.asciidoctor is absent in the sandbox and the governance Code quality + docs job does not render AsciiDoc, so no gate covers it; only structural checks (anchors, delimiters, link targets) were run.
2. Why this cannot merge — not the diff
Ruleset epistemic-types-continuity-proof-branch requires seven contexts. Three come from the two reusable-workflow callers:
Both callers fail at startup with zero jobs. The annotation is explicit:
Invalid workflow file: .github/workflows/governance.yml#L18 — error parsing called workflow ".github/workflows/governance.yml" -> "hyperpolymath/standards/.github/workflows/governance-reusable.yml@75bd5994…": workflow was not found.
Evidence that this is repo-level access to reusable workflows, not a bad pin:

Runs 40233171195 (75bd5994) and 40233789191 (fad242d)
fail identically
The probe commit was reverted (git reset --hard c4a7f6a), so the branch carries only the docs change. This affects every PR in this repository, not just this one.
To unblock (admin, not code): restore this repository's Actions access to reusable workflows from hyperpolymath/standards (Settings → Actions → General → Access; the error's own doc link points there), or temporarily unrequire those three contexts in ruleset 22415086, merge, and restore.
POST /repos/hyperpolymath/epistemic-types/issues/39/comments returns 403 "Resource not accessible by integration" — the same issue-write gap seen on 2026-10-04. PR writes work; issue writes do not. #39 is verified untouched (open, 0 comments, updatedAt unchanged at 2026-10-05T06:38:56Z).
That is also why the guard should stay open until this merges: main still asserts #32 is open, and closing the guard now would remove the only tracker for a statement that is still false on the default branch. The intended #39 update is recorded here instead.
4. What lands when this merges
main stops telling agents that #32 is open; the 2026-10-05 review stays as history with dated notes; the standalone repository's real state (TINI PROVEN at two points and over a Lattice record, declassification not implemented) is recorded with an exact revision.
