Demonstration of this new functionality is in the attached video below. Suggest to watch with sound turned on.

This PR is tested by me on Fedora 44 with Cinnamon 6.6.7, that's why it's done against the 6.6-maintenance branch instead of master. I'm sure it will work in master branch as well if merged/cherry-picked into there.

Special request for Fedora maintainers of Cinnamon. Since Fedora 44 probably won't get the latest 6.6.x version, please integrate this PR as a patch for the current 6.6.7 version of Cinnamon in Fedora 44.

Regarding the default <Super><Alt>Tab shortcut. I chose this one as the default to be able to switch the active audio output device by one hand only and by something similar to the application switching, i.e. similar to <Alt>Tab.
