🚨 Severity: HIGH
πŸ’‘ Vulnerability: Broken Access Control. The User model lacked a role field, and the JWT payload did not include it, causing all admin authorization checks (e.g., user.role === 'ADMIN') to fail universally.
🎯 Impact: Denial of Service for Admins. No user could perform administrative actions.
πŸ”§ Fix:

  1. Added role UserRole @default(USER) to backend/prisma/schema.prisma.
  2. Updated AuthService to include role in the JWT payload and login response.
  3. Regenerated Prisma Client.
    βœ… Verification:
  • Verified schema.prisma contains role field.
  • Verified auth.service.ts uses UserRole enum and user.role.
  • Ran npm run build in backend/ to confirm type safety.
