Engineering leader from Ghent, Belgium. Husband, father of a seven-year-old, long-distance runner. That's about it, in a nutshell.
By day I build great things with the engineering team at Urbantz. By night (well, evening) I run a lot and build more things for myself and for my wife's Toddle & Tumble. The side projects live at Small Victories: mostly apps for kids, born from our own needs as a family, plus a few web tools and some open source. Everything is on the projects page.
"In the long run, it's just a bunch of short runs"
Apps (App Store and Google Play)
All of them are made for kids, and I'm proud that none of them track anything: no ads, no analytics.
- Rilo: the most mature one. A first phone for young children that only reaches the people their parents approve. Safe and end-to-end encrypted.
- Brush Buddy: a two-minute brushing timer that gets kids to brush all their teeth, not just one spot.
- Kiddypaint: turns any photo into a colour-by-number page. Simple, so don't expect too much of it. Your photos stay on the phone.
- Math Adventure: a calm, offline maths game for ages 6 to 9.
Fun web apps and handy tools
- Pass the Aux: a DJ booth for a party with friends, where every guest can suggest the next track (code).
- Photoboot: a party photo booth in the browser that prints stickers on a Bluetooth thermal printer (code).
- SEPA QR: payment QR codes, made entirely in your browser (code).
- The best Chrome extension in the world: maybe the one I'm proudest of. Elevator music for Google Meet, and a background in the colour of your shirt.
- google-calendar-sync: an Apps Script that keeps several Google calendars in sync across accounts.
Open source
- rustpad: my hosted fork of Eric Zhang's Rustpad, a minimal collaborative code editor, live at code.small-victories.co.
- small-victories-skillsbook and small-victories-bookings: two WordPress plugins, no longer maintained.
